Ask Nikhil
Ask me something, before you decide anything.
This is Coach Nick. He is trained on how I actually coach — the models I use, the questions I ask, the things I have learned the hard way. He is not me, and he will tell you so. But he will give you a straight answer at two in the morning, which I will not.
He is being set up and will be answering here shortly. Everything below is true of him now, so you know what you are getting when he arrives.
Coach Nick
He will be answering in this window shortly. If your question will not wait, write to [email protected] and it comes to me rather than to him.
Things people actually ask him
“I was passed over again last week. What do I even do first?”
“How do I ask my boss what she really thinks without it being weird?”
“There is someone senior who does not rate me. Do I just avoid him?”
“Is this just politics? Because it feels like politics.”
What he is, and what he is not
He is
Trained on my own material — the way I open a conversation, the models I hand people, the phrases I use often enough that my clients repeat them back to me. If you want to know what it is like to be coached by me before you pay for anything, this is the closest you can get for free.
He is also patient in a way I cannot be. Ask him the same thing six different ways at midnight and he will keep going.
He is not
Me. He does not know your organisation, he has not met the people you are describing, and he will say so rather than guess. Where something is outside what he knows, he is built to tell you plainly instead of filling the gap.
He will not promise you a promotion either. Neither will I. Nobody honest can, because the decision is not ours to make.
Conversations here are not read by me and are not a substitute for professional advice. If you would rather talk to the actual person, that is what the strategy session is for.
He gets considerably more useful once he has your score.
Ask him anything you like right now — that is what the page is for. But he is at his best when he can see which of the three is actually your bottleneck, because then he stops answering in general and starts answering about you.
The assessment takes about five minutes and costs nothing. Then come back and ask him what your result means.

About five minutes. A score on each of the three, and the one to begin with. No cost, and no call booked at the end of it.
